Ubud is a foodie mecca and one of my favourite travel destinations for frequenting healthy restaurants. There is just soo much glorious, nutritious food! And by ‘healthy’ we mean restaurants that offer organic, locally and sustainably sourced, real food. Personally, we’re also looking for restaurants that have an awareness of, and cater to, allergies, intolerances (for us that’s gluten and dairy) and things like paleo, keto, plant-based or vegan.

Nobody wants their holiday sabotaged by the infamous Bali Belly. We’ve written a detailed post on the symptoms and treatment of Bali Belly but wanted to touch on some of our favourite natural options for preventing Bali Belly so that you (hopefully) never have to worry about treatment at all. Earlier this month we were invited to explore the central part of the Great Barrier Reef Drive with Tourism & Events Queensland and Apollo Motorhome Holidays. Our brief was to drive from Townsville to Mackay, experiencing some of the very best that this beautiful region has to offer. We took one for the team and reluctantly (not really!) agreed to spend six days road-tripping through paradise.

We’ve been skiing (not very well) in Austria and New Zealand, but had heard amazing things about skiing in Hakuba Japan… Japow, and all that! So, to coincide with our birthdays and our planned cherry blossom adventure, we added a week of spring snowboarding to our two-month itinerary and got to planning. We also tried our hand at snowboarding because, well, that’s what all the cool kids are doing. Oh, and did I mention we were pretty terrible at skiing with limited promise of improvement?.

This is how to hike to the Hollywood Sign without breaking the law and without annoying the neighbours. It’s no Everest, but the Hollywood Sign hike does require its own kind of preparation and planning. After a bunch of research, one failed attempt that was over before it began, more research and (finally) one successful completion of the hollywood sign trail, here’s everything you need to know.

The healing powers of hot springs and thermal baths have been used for thousands of years. From the Romans and Egyptians to modern day European bathhouses and Japanese Onsen, cultures from all around the world agree: hot baths are bliss. And after our first visit to Iceland’s Blue Lagoon, which is a short drive south of Reykjavik (pictured above), we totally agree. Not content with just one, we’ve made our own bucket list of bathing spots around the world, and hope it brings inspiration to those of you with a soft-spot for a good soak.
